Karen True Winslow, CFP®, ChF, AIF®
Karen has over thirty-five years of experience in the financial services industry and founded Wintergreen Financial Group in 1995. As a Wealth Manager she offers a full range of investment services with a comprehensive and caring approach. Karen also has supervised many LPL advisors over the years.
Her philosophy is to develop strong relationships with clients based on mutual trust. She makes recommendations that seek to improve financial well-being and provide solutions to problems. Karen offers dedicated service to help ensure that existing financial plans are adequate and makes change s when necessary. As a true consultant, she wants to be the first person that comes to mind when a client has a financial concern, question, or problem.
Karen holds a BA degree in Economics and Spanish from Colby College. She spent a semester on exchange in Cuernavaca, Mexico, and also her junior year abroad at London School of Economics. Karen holds Series 4, 6, 7, 24, 26, 31, 51 & 63 securities registrations with LPL Financial, and a Life & Health Insurance License in the State of Maine. She is a Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®) and Chartered Financial Consultant® (ChFC®).
Karen currently serves on the Board of the Maine Estate Planning Council and is Vice President of the Falmouth Lions Club, where she is actively involved in fundraising and serving her community. She previously served on the Board of the National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors in Maine and was also a past President and Board Member of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maine. Karen has been involved as a Big Sister for over nineteen years. She was one of three honorees chosen for a Community Leadership Award for mentoring excellence from the Invest in Others Charitable Foundation in 2009. She received the “Connie’s Commitment to Kids” recently from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Maine for demonstrating outstanding service, supporting the mission and goals of the agency, above and beyond the call of duty.
Karen grew up in Bath, Maine, where her mother still lives along with her father’s spirit and legacy. She grew up learning how to run a business from her father , who owned Hallet's Drug Store in Bath. There they offered homemade ice cream at their old-fashioned soda fountain. Later, Karen ran the ice cream business from home and had a stand on Front Street during the summers. She now lives in Falmouth with her husband, John, daughter, Hayley, and dog, Sadie.
She enjoys traveling, boating on Casco Bay, skiing and snowmobiling at Sugarloaf and spending time with her extended family.
